As you may have already heard, the GlusterFS 3.5 release planning cycle is well underway. The deadline is this Thursday, August 14. If you have a feature or patchset you’ve been working on and want to include it in the GlusterFS 3.5 release, please update the page and add your feature proposal to the list.
If you’re interested in improving the existing GlusterFS 3.4 release, make sure to peruse the requested backports page, to make sure that your preferred fixes make it into the next maintenance releases.
For this release cycle, the proposal is to move to a 4-month release cycle. We realize this is fairly aggressive, but we believe it gives us the best chance to rapidly evolve GlusterFS into the best darned distributed storage system on the planet. If you have opinions about this release plan, feel free to add them to the planning page and voice them on the gluster-devel mailing list.
Look out – exciting times ahead!
